René Redzepi is an eccentric personality behind Noma, celebrated Danish restaurant. Awarded World’s Best Restaurant multiple times, Noma reportedly put Scandinavia on the world gourmet map. This documentary follows the restaurant as they research a new recipe and went on to clinch yet another Best Restaurant award. The film follows the chefs as they traipse around Danish woods foraging ingredients, and discusses some sensitive topics with Redzepi. In particular, what struck me was his experiences as an immigrant to Denmark and suffering all types of discrimination. Yet that did not stop him working his way to bring his restaurant to great new height.
This film is recommended for those who enjoy an biographical component to their documentaries and food.
