[This post is part of a series of my Winter Vacation in South Korea in 2016]
L7 Myeongdong is a new lifestyle hotel in Myeongdong, the downtown tourist shopping district in Seoul. Part of the Lotte hotel group, it is a modern hotel sporting a rooftop foot spa (which is closed in winter when I visited) and rooftop bar, while concurrently being family-friendly with family rooms that accommodate up to 3 occupants. Overlooking Namsan Tower, the night view of the hillview rooms are stellar.
As I travelled with family, we opted for a Standard Family room that consists of a double and a single bed, fit for 3, and perhaps a baby. Our room faced Myeongdong street view, not a bad option too as that was a quieter street compared to the main thoroughfare.
The room is small, typical of most boutique hotels with just enough space for 2 adults and a child with 3 mid-size luggages. The amenities are pretty standard; kettle, some coffee, mini-fridge with daily bottles of water, television with international channels and bathroom amenities.
The bathroom features a heated toilet seat, rain shower, and heated mirrors (ergo: no foggy mirrors). The space is a little tight as the shower doors open outwards towards the toilet, but manageable (if you shower alone!)
Breakfast is not usually included in Myeongdong hotels since we are surrounded by cafes and restaurants. L7 is connected via a covered exit to Angel In Us Coffee, and within 50 steps to the nearest 7-11 and Paris Baguette.
At sub-US$200 a night in Myeongdong, this new hotel is a steal for its convenience.
